Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Geary (software). Please take a moment to review my edit. You may add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it, if I keep adding bad data, but formatting bugs should be reported instead. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:

Geary is not dead[edit]

The Geary project is not dead and is continued under the GNOME project. This was announced on the Geary mailing list with a new maintainership: https://mail.gnome.org/archives/geary-list/2016-March/thread.html

Thanks for your comment. I'm gonna integrate this asap in the article, but I will keep the article name "Pantheon Mail" as in the future that name is more likely to get known than Geary IMHO. Wget (talk) 10:30, 4 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Done Integrated. Hope my summary is correct and does give a good hint of the current situation. Wget (talk) 11:14, 4 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

On the name "Geary"[edit]

The current version of the page contains a speculation: "The initial name probably came from the name of the street (Geary Street), Yorba Foundation was located in."

While that's an interesting theory, I can confirm as a former Yorba employee that it's not the case and is actually a coincidence. When we released the first beta of Geary in May 2012, Yorba was located on Capp Street. That said, I don't believe we ever offered an official story on why we chose the name Geary (aside from the fact that all our software was named after streets in San Francisco) so I'm not sure I can provide a verifiable citation to contradict the current one.

I integrated this remark. Wget (talk) 11:02, 28 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Done. Sourced here. Wget (talk) 15:17, 6 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Now the page says "However, according to a former Yorba employee, the application was not named after the street name." This particular claim is incorrect; as I stated above, Yorba's products were named after streets in San Francisco. In fact, "Yorba" itself is also a street in San Francisco's Sunset District. Hi Eric. Thanks for your feedback. Indeed my explanation was not clear and not very accurate, sorry for that. I modified the paragraph accordingly. Does this look OK for you now, wrt. the facts? Feel free to let me know if there are other issues with the article. Regards, Wget (talk) 11:02, 30 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
