Plagiarized[edit]

This page seems to have started as a fairly obvious copy of http://www.sljfaq.org/afaq/dutch.html. The order of the words and the words in the list are exactly the same as in the above. Some of the meanings also seem to have been copied wholesale. What's worse, it has been done without any acknowledgement of the source.

I don't think so. There are many such lists around: for example, or here, or here, Sanseido dictionary or here. You are bound to find some similarities in an alphabetical list... Honestly, I cannot remember if the page you are mentionning was also used as a source (4 years ago). You will see that the spreadsheet layout is also a Wikipedia standard [1] [2]. You could insert an external link to the site you are mentionning from the Wikipedia page if you wish (actually, I'll do it for you). The words on this list are not exactly the same as on the external website. An alphabetical list is bound to have similarities in the order words appear. Some words are not included in the external website. Words are not copyrightable so they can be used here without problem. The table format is not copyrightable either. Some, but not all of the explanations are similar to the external website but can be removed or modified. Some headings are the same. So I suggest change the headings and some of the explanations that are close to the external website, remove words that cannot be cited using scholarly publications or reliable sources and that should be the end of it. All possible copyvios removed[edit]

And every single word is now attributable to an inline citation. Dr.K. λogosπraxis 13:50, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

In the process I learned some Japanese and some Dutch. That's Wikipedia for you. Dr.K. λogosπraxis 14:04, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Karan: DE or NL?[edit]

Is Karan (Kraan) german or dutch? This site says Dutch, but EDICT says german. More precisely, my older offline version of EDICT just says it's german and the newest version says it's both, but I don't know if anyone updated EDICT from this very page. --Zom-B (talk) 10:21, 20 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please check the items listed[edit]

Several of them look like their from Portuguese or English. Please check the list again and add some comment to those items which are dubious at first sight if they're nevertheless Dutch. If not, remove them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.139.90.173 (talk) 15:58, 20 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
