Current Disposition[edit]

The article needs to have the current disposition of the GP. 198.123.50.168 (talk) 17:25, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

paragraph 3 Line The test pilot for these fligts was MacCready's 13 year old son Marshal Replace with The test pilot for these battery powered flights and the first solar powered flight was MacCready's 13 year old son Marshall ref 2,3 rev

General Characteristics replace Fuel Capacity with Energy Source My reasoning is that both batteries and Solar panels do not use fuel so using the heading fuel capacity seems odd.

Change location of ref 2 from AIAA to http//astrobobb/history

insert a new ref 3 http//astrobobb/gossamer penguin

these two references are available as pdf and can be downloaded and copied free

These are invalid links, and a quick check seems to indicate that the intended links are, in fact self-published sources and thus questionable at best when it comes to WP:RS... - The Bushranger One ping only 11:30, 6 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Excuse me I should check my typing.

the two references should be http//astrobobb.com/history and http//astrobobb.com/Gossamer Penguin the firt is a rewritten copy of my AIAA paper which is not available from the AIAA in its entirety unless one pays one years dues. If you look at the first page of the AIAA ref you will see that I hold the copyright as the author. I re published some of my papers with color photos to make them available free to all. On my web site you will also find two of my books also available to down load free. I am in my 80s and retired and am making many of my technical papers public for all to see free of charge. Please feel free to look them over. Also ref 3 describes Young Marshall making the first solar powered flight, and photos show Ray Morgan and myself running along with the Penguin. I personally spent two years on the MacCready team and I loaned my solar panels from my Sunrise II to the program. Sorry if my post was confusing. Rjb31563 (talk) 19:08, 6 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, I understand now. Sorry if I was a bit short earlier. If these are copies provided under your copyright of material that was published by a third-party previously then they should be acceptable; probably the best way to insert them is by using the "archive" parts of the reference template, so that the original source remains linked as well. - The Bushranger One ping only 23:40, 6 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
