Comment[edit]

This is a rather poor article. The hat in question is actually a Greek Fisherman's cap. To term the article, "John Lennon" cap is foolish. That would be akin to the Teashades article being the "John Lennon Glasses" article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.223.222.30 (talk) 15:07, 14 December 2010 (UTC) Also, John Lennon has obviously worn a lot of different hats. This is only one of them. A simple Google image search shows that this is hardly a defining hat for him.[reply]

Tone[edit]

This article seems a bit informal, and many of the sentences make vary little - if any - sense. I'll try and work on this, but it could do with some contribution from editors more familiar with this hat - I don't even know what it looks like. If you don't know what it looks like, have a look at the Bob Dylan link. LymeRegis (talk) 17:46, 13 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No picture or even description? I'd add one, but I don't actually know what this is. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.106.18.12 (talk) 21:48, 28 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've added an image from the Bob Dylan article showing the hat and worked a bit on the wording and tone. Nuujinn (talk) 00:22, 21 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Move to "Greek Fisherman's Hat"[edit]

That's what most people call it. The John Lennon title can be a redirect here. Chrisrus (talk) 06:47, 27 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

George R.R. Martin[edit]

No mention of his wearing one? He's probably the most notable living person that wears a Greek fisherman's cap, and it is one of the most notable things about his "look." 2001:558:6026:B:4A5:FECA:713B:BE42 (talk) 20:00, 1 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Misidentification[edit]

The hat John Lennon was known for is called a Breton cap or Liverpool cap. It's similar to a Greek cap but lacks an embroidered visor and usually doesn't include a cord. I propose to create Breton cap and move all John Lennon related material to that page. Ibadibam (talk) 21:04, 21 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Alternatively, all those hat types could reside at a page called Fisherman cap or Fisherman's cap. Ibadibam (talk) 21:10, 21 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
