Anti-democrat[edit]

I would just like to say here, although I am possibly a bit of a hypocrite not to actually add anything about it myself, tht Guðmundur is actually also a very interesting character because of his ideas on how to manage states. His ideas were in fact very anti-democratic, by modern standards. In this he was a part of a wider movement of intellectuals with similar ideas - amongst the others were Ágúst H. Bjarnarson and Guðmundur Hannesson. They all had ideas of reducing the powers of the parliament and radically changing the voting system, as well as changing the system of the government itself, that is, how ministers were selected and what they did. As I say, I'm not going to write about it here, now, but I thought I'd at least mention it on the talk page. --Sterio 21:29, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
