Coren Search Bot is in error as the article it is referncing is simply a copied word-for-word version of the wikipedia article since its inception. NevyanSD 06:19, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

Actually, CorenSearchBot did a good job of detecting this copy of a Wikipedia article without attribution, which is a GFDL violation. -- But|seriously|folks  06:53, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

This page should be merged with HS-8, as HSC-8 is the same squadron as was HS-8. The squadron, unless this was an unprecedented instance, was NOT disestablished and then reestablished the same day with a different name. The squadron, as has been done countless times, was redesignated. The aircraft and mission might have changed, but the people, command structure, and traditions of HS-8 remain. When a squadron disestablishes, it goes away forever. The Sailors, equipment, etc. are disbursed to other units. Even if, according to the Navy, a squadron is "reborn" with colors from the past (as with VF-111 / VFC-111 Sundowners), the lineage has been broken. They are two separate squadrons. NOT the case here. E2a2j (talk) 16:41, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

HS-8 is a separate organization from HSC-8 and has a history that is disticnt to that unit specifically. As a unit HS-8 ceased to exist when the colors were cased and a new squadron designation was established. Helicopter ANTISUBMARINE Squadron Eight ceases to exist and will not be reborn under the Navy's new designation system. Yes the lineage is the same but the mission, emblems, aircraft and designation have all changed. It is more appropriate to keep both articles separate but with a blurb about the history prior to the ESTABLISHMENT of HSC-8. (talk) 22:07, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
