GA Review

[edit]

I cant do the review but looking quickly I'd be inclined to say this looks OK, *with* 2 changes to the lead. 1.Once it's said, it's said. No one likes to hear a story twice. I sure don't want to re-read anything, not even half way. So literally repeating or re-using sentences found in the lead is annoying.

This: "...the label informed the band to keep writing more material, Levine wrote the song in frustration of the pressure." comes up more than once. Once is it; & I feel it reads better where it's more developed, later on. So for the lead I'd maybe just stick more with 'the song expresses tension, having been written quickly under trying circumstances' - something as a teaser for fuller details later on.

2. Watch that you say what you mean. ie., "Breathe" was met with positive reception by music critics, who noted the track's general sound." ew, so it has a 'general sound'? I'm a musician and I still dunno what that means. Is this alleged "general sound" a good thing? Or is the term "general sound" filler? ... or did you maybe forget something? Like "the general sound of ka-ching"?

Quick fail criteria assessment

  1. The article completely lacks reliable sources – see Wikipedia:Verifiability.
  2. The topic is treated in an obviously non-neutral way – see Wikipedia:Neutral point of view.
  3. There are cleanup banners that are obviously still valid, including cleanup, wikify, NPOV, unreferenced or large numbers of fact, clarifyme, or similar tags.
  4. The article is or has been the subject of ongoing or recent, unresolved edit wars.
  5. The article specifically concerns a rapidly unfolding current event with a definite endpoint.

No problems with quick fail criteria, moving to main review. Jezhotwells (talk) 19:56, 23 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
