This article is substantially duplicated in one or more external publications. Since these publication(s) copied Wikipedia, rather than the reverse, please do not flag this article as a copyright violation of the following source:
The external source did not mention that it copied text from Wikipedia, but appears to plagiarise the content. This is especially apparent when the section "§ Merchandising", which the source mostly copied text from, has citations retrieved in 2015, predating the external source and its author (who joined aminoapps.com in June 2016).

Surprisingly, I'm finding vanishingly few reliable sources covering Brazilian Miku. If we can find one or two though, then we can add it. guninvalid (talk) 17:39, 8 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
The correct information is provided in the note, however the original wording still implies information that is not true. "The name of the character comes from merging the Japanese words for first (初, hatsu), sound (音, ne), and future (ミク, miku)" would lead a non-Japanese speaker to believe that ミク is a common word meaning future when it's really just a name with no context in which it could by itself be used to mean future.
It's slightly pedantic but could genuinely cause confusion. A more accurate rewording could look something like:
The surname of the character comes from merging the kanji for first (初, hatsu) and sound (音, ne), while the given name (ミク, miku) is a Japanese's girl's name that can be written in kanji to have the meaning of future[a], thus meaning "the first sound of the future". Since she has gained significance for being a derivative character of Hatsune Miku (just like Akita Neru, even though I would argue that Haku is not on the same level of popularity as her), I wonder if people are going to search up reliable sources online covering information on her, if there's ever going to be a section on her? She's one of countless derivatives and variants of Miku. She would never warrant a completely standalone section. Maybe a passing mention when discussing Miku variants and derivatives. λNegativeMP115:40, 16 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
