Bristling letter?[edit]

I've done a search of the Times archives and also a general google search, and I have not found the letter to the Times noted in this article. Was the letter actually published? Does anyone know the reference to this? Otherwise I think this statement should be removed. Easchiff (talk) 05:44, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

OK - the phrase "bristling" can be found in Nordlinger's review (see citations in article) - but was it actually published? Easchiff (talk) 06:00, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

French release?[edit]

There has been a claim in this article that the lack of a French theatrical release is due to a threat of litigation by Daniel Barenboim. I can find no references that confirm this. The film is available as an imported DVD at amazon.fr. I am removing this claim from the main article, but it can be replaced if a citation is given.Easchiff (talk) 05:51, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

more details on the 'controversy'[edit]

This article, and the articles on the two du Pre women, all mention the controversies of the book and film, and how many of Jaqueline's friends were upset etc. without ever mentioning what it was they were upset about or objected to. Can someone who knows maybe fill in a few examples? Waynemarkstubbs (talk) 14:00, 6 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ya really. The same omissions are at the article on de Pre. Given that there are NO DETAILS WHATSOEVER, how are we supposed to get anything other than some friends of de Pre didn't like the book for some reason? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.86.106.215 (talk) 17:52, 25 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'll take a stab at it; I think they didn't want to accept the affair. Everyone that is a fan had in their minds of the great relationship between du Pre and Barenboim (which I believe it was) and didn't want her reputation sullied, or his feelings hurt. 98.67.1.142 (talk) 21:48, 4 January 2011 (UTC) HammerFilmFan[reply]

Deletions?[edit]

Can someone explain what has happened with this article, and why there appears to be no article on the book 'A Genius in the Family'. No new comments for four years (really?) and no new entries on Amazon reviews for the same period? My own material seems to be missing. - Lindosland (talk) 14:33, 7 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
