Town or village?[edit]

This seems a point of controversy: Ordnance Survey reckons it's a town.^[1] PamD 14:21, 30 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I've checked two websites including the Parish Council and visit Staffordshire both say village. Also there is no mention in SSD (South Staffordshire District) council site that calls it a town. The only town in that district is Brewood as it was a market town not referred to one as such now but is an ancient market town and had a charter. Penkridge has never had a market charter to award it town status. It seems to have gone unchecked the actual status since its creation. I've only delved in and found it isn't a market town. An OS map might refer to it as a town or a newspaper but not the official government sites nor Staffordshire sites. As said only Brewood got town status a bit like Malpas in Cheshire and Tuxford in Nottinghamshire. RailwayJG (talk) 15:00, 30 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Although Tuxford does have a town council. And was a market town. Malpas not so much and penkridge never has RailwayJG (talk) 15:00, 30 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
