Over-detailed[edit]

I've tried to winnow out the trivial detail in some areas, but having spent some time on just one section, what's the point? I have better things to do. I agree wholeheartedly with the comment on the main page Chrismorey (talk) 07:23, 22 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Andy Ducat[edit]

In expanding the early history of the club, based on club documents available via Companies House, I noticed that an early investor in the club was one Andrew Ducat (listed in the 1906 Prospectus as living at 7 Hermitage Road, Westcliff, a builder). Not sure that this is the same person as cricketer and footballer Andy Ducat (1886-1942) - his article says he grew up in Southend and played for Southend Athletic (two of United's first professionals were signed from Southend Athletic FC), but he would only have been 20 in August 1906, so perhaps the investor was a relative (maybe his father?)? - Paul W (talk) 13:42, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
