Hey, it would be great if people could help me extend this article, I'm afraid I'd be way to biased in my opinion to write too much about them. Also I'm not to good at making Wiki look neat and clean. Straightxedger 20:53, 22 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Although I already said it in my reasoning for moving the page, the band is nowhere near as well known as Metallica or their song. When your fans and/or people who don't care for you can easily be in the front row of a show you play, compared to having 50,000 people singing along to your song, you aren't as well known. I helped a bit with what I do know about them in compensation. By the way, I think Omar's 'fro is hilariously awesome even if I don't like the band as a whole. Also, I have seen them twice. Once at a church and once at a show my band played in, along with 15 other bands. Dudewhiterussian 09:41, 25 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I made it so the Links in the Discography page would revert back to the band and not the song. And I agree that Metallica is way more popular than Hit the Lights, which is to be expected. Thanks for helping out. Straightxedger 20:15, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not so experienced with wiki but Hit the Lights did not take their name from a Metallica song, it even came up on Steven's untitled rock show as shown in this article. So I feel it's appropriate to take that they took their name from Metallica and are in no way associated with Metallica. Wrong information is bad information and them taking their name from a Metallica song is definitely wrong information. So please help me in keeping that information off of this page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lucas84 (talkcontribs) 16:43, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

They didn't actually take their name from the Metallica song, they asked Chris Nolan (Dead To Fall, Endthisday, Coma Eternal) to give them a name after they had ceased being The Goodbye Session. Nolan gave them "Hit The Lights".76.26.222.202 (talk) 09:04, 21 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Over the course of the past year, half a dozen theories have been added to this page about the band's name. This is the only one that's ever been backed up with a reliable source. We're going to need one of those if you have another theory. Chubbles (talk) 12:21, 21 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm..I don't have a written source or anything.. My name is Mike and I did merch for the band (as well as other local bands like The Fight Within, Every Bridge Burned )along with Evan Thomas off and on from 04 to around 06 ( went to school around the time they started recording "This is a stick-up.." I still talk to the guys when they aren't on tour. I'm not sure what you'd accept as a "source" (an email from the Omar, Dave..?). I'll see if I can dig something up. 76.26.222.202 (talk) 17:47, 21 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move[edit]

Asking for this to me moved to Hit the Lights now that the article on the song has been converted to a redirect to the Metallica album Kill 'Em All per this AfD. Chubbles 21:03, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've moved the page, and moved the history previously at this location to Hit the Lights/old, in case anybody needs it later. -GTBacchus(talk) 09:11, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
