Merge[edit]

We should merge this content with the article fantasy hockey --under essentially the latter name (fantasy ice hockey, fantasy hockey league, fantasy NHL, etc).

I don't know whether the term "hockey pool" is so established in this sense, and its play so popular in North America, to justify making this page WP:REDIRECT to fantasy hockey. Or on the other hand, redirect to the betting pool article or a section, where some instances featuring regionally popular sports leagues or tournaments are now mentioned in section 2 Betting pool#Sports Betting Globally. That is, "hockey pool" as a term for more than two people betting on the outcomes of more than one game, at once.

See Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Baseball/Archive 41#Baseball pool? for some general and some baseball discussion that is partly related, but this "pool" page alone now features fantasy league betting. --P64 (talk) 20:34, 20 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • This definitely should be merged. There's not a single source right now and frankly I don't see the two as conceptually different - I think they're basically different names for the same thing. Major WP:OR problems right now. mikeman67 (talk) 14:18, 21 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Agreed. Merge They are essentially the same thing. — X96lee15 (talk) 14:33, 21 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Given that this was the initial phase of what eventually became the current form of fantasy hockey I see no reason why these can't be merged. Deadman137 (talk) 18:05, 23 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge per previous comments. Cobblet (talk) 12:51, 24 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge. Fantasy hockey is more complete and written better than this article, and it mentions the term "Hockey pool" in the lead paragraph. PKT(alk) 19:21, 4 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge, as above. I'll leave this merge for now; it requires consideration of where content from the Hockey pool page will fit into Fantasy hockey. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Seba5tien (talkcontribs) 11:08, 28 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
