Gender[edit]

If 'Holly' was 24th-most popular girls' name in the UK, can it really be said that Hollie is the feminine form, and Holly is masculine? If no one objects I'd like to remove that bit, it's unreferenced anyway.Douglasi (talk) 13:18, 29 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Meaning[edit]

holly means beautiful and gracious

Czech name[edit]

There is no such a Czech given name as Cesmina, this word is used only for this holly tree. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.19.47.18 (talk) 08:28, 5 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Small edit[edit]

Hope nobody minds, but I moved Holly Hobbie to the Fictional Characters section of this article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.106.21.175 (talk) 16:37, 3 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction[edit]

I've deleted some unreferenced new-age bollocks which was added in March 2013 by an editor who is no longer with us (but had a temporary ban for adding unreferenced bollocks to articles, and getting stroppy when challenged, and never came back (viz). I trust that is OK with everyone. Moonraker12 (talk) 17:15, 28 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Meaning[edit]

I've heard that "Holly" was used more in Ireland within it's language, Gaelic. (Holly bush, Holly tree, ETC) 208.38.230.13 (talk) 04:08, 21 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
