Overview needs pruned[edit]

The overview alone has a ton of information on changes to the playoff structure over the years, etc. Yet, somehow, in this entire long article, there is no mention of how pitching is done, what are the mechanics/rules that allow so many home runs, do the players have to round the bases, who catches, is there an ump, what if there is a bad pitch, etc. I would suggest making the overview one or two paragraphs, including an clearer explanation of the basics of how this thing is conducted, an no info in the overview of changes to the format over the years. Changes to the game format should probably be in a table or bullet list, and should be moved from the overview section.

Also, a simple step that would greatly improve readability would be to move the yearly 'scorecard' tables to their own page. Maybe replace these in the main article with a simple table of location, score, individual leader, and team by year. -LaTeeDa (talk) 02:14, 9 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Tables[edit]

Do we really need a table for each year? I was thinking about creating a table for all-time winners (odd this page doesn't have one), at which point those other tables, which seem borderline excessive to me, will be less useful. Thoughts? – Muboshgu (talk) 05:13, 10 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Most single derby home runs[edit]

Should a player be listed more that once in this list? It seems to me that it makes more sense to only include the personal best for each of these players. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 73.162.44.235 (talk) 04:00, 15 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Trophy[edit]

Shouldn't it have a section about the trophy awarded to the champions (and the WWE belt used as an informal trophy)? 190.166.115.25 (talk) 16:04, 2 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support There shouldn't be any need to further describe the home run derby. The name in on itself should be plainly obvious to people. Dannyyankee12let's talk 15:16, 17 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Pitching[edit]

I see that this has been raised before but can someone please explain how the pitching works. The photo shows the pitcher standing on some kind of wheeled contraption several feet in front of the mound. I'm confused. Tigerboy1966  11:17, 6 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
