A Home and Away wikiproject?[edit]

I have started a discussion HERE about the idea of a Wikiproject for Home and Away and fellow soap opera Neighbours. I am wondering if anyone has an opinion on the matter or would or would not be interested in joining such a project.RaintheOne BAM 18:31, 1 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Season 25[edit]

Why does someone keep listing Home and Away as being in its 24th season? It may be in its 24th year, but it is in its 25th season. The first season of Home and away was in 1988, which should be counted as year one. When counting in years, you wouldn't count 1988, but while counting in seasons 1988 must be included. Why is the show described as having "seasons" at all? It is a continuing drama - yes, it has a Christmas break each year, but does that really constitute the end of a season in traditional TV terms? Smurfmeister (talk) 20:53, 27 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ratings in UK[edit]

The sentence stating that it is one of Channel 5's highest-rating shows is no longer reasonable: it hasn't been regularly over a million at teatime for quite some time, and many other C5 programmes routinely get 1m+. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nvw (talkcontribs) 23:32, 28 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Unless you can provide sources this is pire conjecture. "Quite some time" is not encyclopaedic. You may as well just say "quite a few people like it but not as many as at one time". Smurfmeister (talk) 00:15, 29 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I have noticed the numbers getting smaller on ratings round ups - but if you combine the two, it is still over one million. Plus they have Demand 5 on a number of platforms. A lot to consider. But this is just recentism.Rain the 1 00:28, 29 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
it airs on a host of channels, of the top of my head channel 5, channel 5 +1, 5*, 5 USA and 5* +1.Twa..tttz. (talk) 20:13, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Not to mention Channel 5 +24. –anemoneprojectors– 10:26, 13 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Is the episode count correct?[edit]

Because channel 7 have been airing 6 episodes per week lately (See the comments from viewers here). There have been double episodes airing on Wednesdays and Thursdays. AusSoaps (talk) 23:13, 19 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

According to the official website, the episode count is right - [2]. JuneGloom Talk 16:15, 25 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Who agrees the episodes table should be removed?[edit]

Is the episodes table really needed? As more seasons come, that table is just going to get longer and longer. Plus it's mostly unsourced and the other soap opera articles do not have this table. Who agrees it should be removed? AusSoaps (talk) 00:42, 17 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Any useful information can be covered by prose elsewhere, it's unsourced and unnecessary. - JuneGloom07 Talk 23:58, 22 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Sources maybe needed for future use[edit]

Original Concept and Timeline Of H&A Pre production[edit]

I have read several sources from SMH and from Bevan Lee about how long H&A was in its pre production stages before it aired. The pilot was filmed in July 1987 but just before that, Bevan Lee said the show had been in development for over 2 years when he came on board just before the pilot was filmed, also a Jan 1988 Sydney Morning Herald article mentions Bateman had worked for 3 years on the show, and this article may be of interest, saying 2 and a half years of research went into H&A. ◾https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1300&dat=19880114&id=GZIyAAAAIBAJ&sjid=9ZYDAAAAIBAJ&pg=2503,1478690&hl=en

Also, while backtothebay is a fansite, Bevan Lee did answer questions in 2004 to users http://www.backtothebay.net/questions/, the 3rd one down, where a user asked him about the pilot episode, Bevan says H&A had been in development for over 2 years by the time he came on board. http://www.backtothebay.net/questions/questions_about_pilot_episode.shtml

James Oram's book H&A Behind The Scenes says after 3 year preparation the filming of the pilot was quite quick. Benny1982 (talk) 04:55, 13 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Large paragraph not sourced[edit]

I worked hard to tidy up this article in 2015 and someone has added a large paragraph in the Ratings and restrictions section that isn't sourced. If no one isn't gonna bother adding sources for this paragraph, I will remove it. AusSoaps (talk) 03:24, 3 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It has been over a week since I posted this discussion and no one has bothered to add references to that paragraph so I've removed it. AusSoaps (talk) 00:17, 11 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
