What are we talking about?[edit]

As I have begun to mention in other instances, this article is practically meaningless. In order to explain where it is exactly, just take a look at all the directions given! Three paragraphs attempt to tell us where it is - with varying degrees of success. Then, to cap it all, there is a map ("a picture is better than a thousand words" springs to mind here). And we are simply trying to say where part of an electoral ward is situated. A ward is a means of giving the councillors representing a section of the Borough an equal number of voters to all the other wards, and very often it has a completely fabricated boundary. In this case, a glance at the London A-Z shows it comes from the name of two of the roads (Hornpark Lane and Hornpark Close). It is part of the electoral ward of Middlepark and Sutcliffe, which can be seen not to have an article, even though it has an existence. Why cannot editors see the difference between a locality such as a settlement (village, town etc or an estate) which has a fixed boundary, even if it adjoins other similar settlements, and a political entity like a ward where settlements are linked together for electoral purposes? The article London Borough of Greenwich has a ward map which shows exactly where the ward is!

Horn Park is simply a small suburban area like many others: it hardly merits a separate articlePeter Shearan (talk) 10:16, 2 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
