Redirects[edit]

PlainJane 04:23, 21 April 2006 (UTC) This page needs to have a redirect from a new page called 'Harlem Hot Shots'[reply]

I created a redirect to this page from the following pages:
  • Rhythm Hot Shots
  • The Harlem Hot Shots
  • Harlem Hot Shots

Rhythm / Harlem Hot Shots[edit]

AFAIK the Rhythm Hot Shots do no longer exist. IMHO this page should be moved to "Harlem Hot Shots", and reworded regarding "current members" etc. // habj 15:35, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think we should leave this page - the Rhythm Hot Shots' members were instrumental in the revival of lindy hop in the earlier days of the revival (Maybe those details should be added to the RHS page?). The Harlem Hot Shots are younger and weren't all involved in that. PlainJane 06:27, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The page has been renamed to Hot Shots, which is what they call themselves when they are referring to both The Rhythm Hot Shots and the Harlem Hot Shots. apanda 20:05, 28 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Additional/temporary members[edit]

Did Mike Faltesak and Todd Yannocone work/perform with the Hot Shots? PlainJane 10:11, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Right now I don't know what exactly Mike Faltesek was doing in Stockholm with the Harlem Hot Shots but I can find out. Mike claims he was a member of HHS but HHS has never published anything stating that he has been a member. AFAIK, Todd Yannacone has never claimed to be a member of the Hot Shots or performed with them, he and Frida only compete together. A lot of dancers have trained with the Hot Shots (and lived in Stockholm temporarily) but not necessarily performed with them. There's no point in listing everyone who has trained with the Hot Shots cause that would be a never-ending list. In practice, anyone without a Swedish residence permit or EU citizenship can not become a member of the Hot Shots since they would not be able to get a Swedish work permit to work for the dance company and legally earn income for the company. This would mean that Mike could legally never be a member of HHS unless he has EU citizenship. apanda 17:13, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

From what I understand, Mike Faltesek was in Stockholm between 2004 and 2005. During that time, there were several newsletters (in Swedish) about Hornsgatan 75 in which the HHS signed with a list of (ordinary) members. (See the Internet Archive for HDC.) Mike Faltesek's name is not mentioned in any of these newsletters even though he did perform and train with them when the newsletters were written. So its possible that he was considered a collaborator or guest performer. I wouldn't include him in the list of members -- others have done the same thing and AFAIK the Hots Shots did not consider them members. panda 03:24, 9 July 2007 (UTC) (formerly apanda)[reply]
