Untitled[edit]

There is at least one factual error in this 'stub' entry in WIKIPEDIA, the biography of General Humberto Delgado: the date on which HD and his Brazilian secretary and mistress were waylaid, kidnapped and then murdered by the Portuguese political police. The article suggests a date in March but the actual date of their murder in Spain was February 13, 1965 and their bodies were 'discovered',and there is much historical debate about the circumstances and timing, about two months later in April 1965. Respectfully submitted, Douglas L. Wheeler, Professor of History Emeritus, Univ.of New Hampshire,Durham; Editor Emeritus, (journal publ.in Canada),Portuguese Studies Review. e-mail address: DougWheeler2@aol.com

The 10th May 1958 quote was not "Obviamente, demito-o!" ("Obviously, I'll sack him!") but "Obviamente, demitia-o!" ("Obviously, I would sack him!"). There is a small but insightful difference and, more importantly, it should be noticed that the first version was a media extrapolation published in certains newspapers that probably didn't support Delgado's bid for president (Submitted by Sidh Losa Mendiratta, architect PhD, Professor, Faculdade de Comunicação, Arquitetura, Artes e Tecnologias da Informação, Universidade Lusófona do Porto, sidh77@gmail.com) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sidh77 (talkcontribs) 13:59, 28 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
