Add the EP to the "Albums with hidden tracks" category. - 137.186.165.143 04:15, 25 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Didn't know it was that rare[edit]

I didn't know that original CD was so rare. I am one of the fortunate ones that have 1 of the 1000 original Hybrid Theory EP. Well, it helps that I know the band members personally too. =D

  • I am insanely jealous of you, whoever you are. PMC
And I have a copy of the LPU reprint I got off an auction site for £4.50 very late in 2002. Hehehe. --Kiand 00:31, 9 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Untitled[edit]

Is the untitled track track #7, or an addition to the end of 'part of me?'

  • There is no track #7; there shouldn't be. The hidden track comes after ten minutes of the long, slightly staticky silence after Part of Me. Does that answer your question? [[User:Premeditated Chaos|User:Premeditated Chaos/Sig]] 01:56, 11 July 2005 (UTC)
      • Who put that Ambient is the official title, and give the sources, please. Hello2112 23:13, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hybrid Theory EP 2 (Extended Edition)[edit]

With 2 extra tracks:

07. High Voltage (Remix) (2000 Reprise)
08. Esaul (A Place for my Head Demo)

what's the story ? release date ?

--Lucho

  • If it exists, it's not an official release by Linkin Park. - 137.186.165.143 04:15, 25 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Like many other "relases", its a bootleg. Which aren't listed on the Wikipedia unless they are remarkably notable - which this one isn't. --Kiand 00:26, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it's clearly a bootleg, as Hybrid Theory EP was in 1999, and there it says '07. High Voltage (Remix) (2000 Reprise)'... A song from 2000 can't be on a 1999 record :). Not to mention that LP stated there was only one HT EP

Track list information[edit]

To the person who edited in that "High Voltage" would later be remixed for Reanimation: You're only partially correct. The band re-recorded the song for Hybrid Theory (it would've followed) "Cure for the Itch" (this can be proven with music editing programs such as ACID Pro). It's since become known as a "reprise" version among fans, and the reprise version is what was remixed for Reanimation. You can tell, because the vocals on the original song are very immature, whereas the vocals on the reprise version are very aggresive. –Wmaltby 04:27, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

    • I removed the track #7 thing; it just states the same thing with another piece of info. Hello2112 20:00, 8 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

And One[edit]

the page says that the track And One 'contains a hidden interlude'. That needs to be clearer - what kind of interlude, and how is it hidden? (can someone who actually owns the CD check this out?) 81.149.205.130 17:46, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't have the CD, but I have all 6 tracks on a 16-track CD (the first 10 tracks are demos of other songs, and the Hybrid Theroy EP starts at Track 11). The hidden interlude is a short rap song that starts at the end of And One (and even shares a track with it). 12.214.76.88 23:13, 29 August 2007 (UTC) Oceanstream 12.214.76.88 23:13, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

EDIT: And about the 16 track CD mantioned in my earlier post, this is the tracklist
  1. "My December"
  2. "Esaul" (A Place for My Head) (Demo)
  3. "High Voltage" (2000 Version)
  4. "Cure for the Itch" (Featuring Porcelin versus Moby)
  5. "One Step Closer" (Changing Channels Version)
  6. "Papercut" (Remix)
  7. "Room 105" (Rare Garage Demo)
  8. "My December" (Faster Version)
  9. "One Step Closer" (Homer's Version)
  10. "Points of Authority 2" (Demo)

Tracks 11-16 are Hybrid Theroy EP. 12.214.76.88 21:00, 31 August 2007 (UTC) Oceanstream 12.214.76.88 21:00, 31 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Removed unverifiable content[edit]

The line ' The unnamed instrumental at the end of track 6 is called "Ambient" or "Secret" by some fans which seems to be a early version of "Session".' is irrelevent to this article, as both Ambient and Secret were names invented by fans, and the fact that it's an early version of 'Session' is just speculation. Also, add in the fact that there is no source anywhere for this, and that basically tells you that this doesn't belong here.71.186.205.237 (talk) 03:32, 29 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Strictly speaking, it's not appropriate to declare either of those names to be the track's title. However, mentioning that it is sometimes referred to by those names is relevant enough for inclusion because it distinguishes it from other "untitled" or alternate-named songs from LP demos. Also, the wording you quoted does not assert that the track is an early version of "Session", only that they bear similarities that could lead to such a conclusion. You seem to have misread this as a statement of fact.
And of course there's no source for such info, nobody with a reputation considered viable as a source has asked the band about this. The similarity of a hidden track on a rare demo to one on an album from a decade ago isn't newsworthy enough. Reporters want to publish the latest so-new-it's-still-going-on information. Until LP are has-beens playing the casino circuit, nobody is going to be interested in investigating old rumors. --Crimson Bleeding Souls (talk) 21:54, 7 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hybrid Theory (EP) is an album??[edit]

According to Official Charts Company's Rules for Chart Eligibility Albums, Section 3.0, it says that releases that are more than 25 minutes or has more than 4 tracks is considered as an album. Hybrid Theory (EP) is 29 minutes long and has more than 4 tracks. So is Hybrid Theory (EP) an album? This is where I got the information: http://c0903002.cdn.cloudfiles.rackspacecloud.com/6915-official-uk-charts-album-chart-rules-april-2013.pdf

Absolutely not. It is an extended play, and it's been left as that. End of story. Skylar3214 10:00, 24 July 2014
