The primary title of this film is I'll Never Forget You, not The House in the Square[edit]

Although listed in IMDb under its British release title, The House in the Square, this is not a British film which was screened in the U.S. under its American appellation, I'll Never Forget You, but quite the opposite. Despite the fact that it was entirely filmed on location in England with a British crew, director and cast (with the very notable exception of the two American leading players, Tyrone Power and Ann Blyth), it was completely financed by the American studio 20th Century Fox and is listed as a U.S. production with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

A useful comparison can be made with a British film starring a top American performer at the peak of his career, Gregory Peck, who filmed Mark Twain's story, "The Million Pound Bank Note" on location in England in 1953, the year in which he also filmed Roman Holiday on location in Rome. The production, released in Britain in January 1954 as The Million Pound Note was shown in the U.S. five months later, in June, retitled Man with a Million. Having been financed by the British company, Group Film Productions Limited and distributed by Britain's General Film Distributors (GFD), it is listed in Steven H. Scheuer's Movies on TV and Leonard Maltin's Movie Guide under its American title followed by the parenthetical qualifier, "(Great Britain, 1954)" and "(1954–British)", respectively. As for I'll Never Forget You, Scheuer and Maltin both agree on the film's American title, but diverge on the nationality of its production, with Scheuer entering "(Great Britain, 1951)" following the title and Maltin leaving it as "(1951)", a designation indicating a U.S. film.—Roman Spinner (talk) 15:21, 24 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
