Change name of article from "conflict" to "terrorism"[edit]

"France-ISIL conflict" implies (despite the word "conflict" not being limited to) armed conflict in France, where French security forces are engaging insurgents in the country, which is not the case.

This article is about lone wolf terrorist attacks targeting civilians, not gunfire exchange between armed insurgents and soldiers. Unlike the similarily named Tunisia-ISIL conflict and Turkey-ISIL conflict, France is not a warzone, and there are no organised insurgent raids on security forces, only attacks on civilians. • I changed the title, and also boldly removed the Infobox appropriate to a war, inappropriate for terrorist attacks.E.M.Gregory (talk) 10:34, 9 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Synth in lead[edit]

I reinstated the tag after "ISIL's activity in France began in December 2014 with ...", for two reasons, firstly the ISIL connection is very tenuous in some of the three instances that follow, secondly this is framed in WP voice as being ISIL's activity, not as possibly ISIL sympathisers. I simply don't think the sources justify such an explicit conclusion. Pincrete (talk) 12:26, 25 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
