Answer Songs[edit]

Goldie Hill did not inspire Skeeter Davis to become a professional singer: she performed as a member of the Davis Sisters at the Louisiana Hayride around the time Kitty Wells and Goldie Hill performed there as well. Besides this fact, Kitty Wells' input as the star songstress of an answer song was even bigger.
