Auto Peer Review

[edit]

The following suggestions were generated by a semi-automatic javascript program, and might not be applicable for the article in question.

  • Please expand the lead to conform with guidelines at Wikipedia:Lead. The article should have an appropriate number of paragraphs as is shown on WP:LEAD, and should adequately summarize the article.[?]
  • Per Wikipedia:Context and Wikipedia:Manual of Style (dates), months and days of the week generally should not be linked. Years, decades, and centuries can be linked if they provide context for the article.[?]
  • There may be an applicable infobox for this article. For example, see Template:Infobox Biography, Template:Infobox School, or Template:Infobox City.[?] (Note that there might not be an applicable infobox; remember that these suggestions are not generated manually)
  • If this article is about a person, please add {{persondata|PLEASE SEE [[WP:PDATA]]!}} along with the required parameters to the article - see Wikipedia:Persondata for more information.[?]
  • This article is a bit too short, and therefore may not be as comprehensive as WP:WIAFA critera 1(b) is looking for. Please see if anything can be expanded upon.[?]
  • This article needs footnotes, preferably in the cite.php format recommended by WP:WIAFA. Simply, enclose inline citations, with WP:CITE or WP:CITE/ES information, with <ref>THE FOOTNOTE</ref>. At the bottom of the article, in a section named “References” or “Footnotes”, add <div class="references-small"><references/></div>.[?]
  • Please ensure that the article has gone through a thorough copyediting so that it exemplifies some of Wikipedia's best work. See also User:Tony1/How to satisfy Criterion 1a.[?]

Date of Planesrunner?

[edit]

Is 2012 correct as the pub date of Planesrunner? The Pyr edition seems to have a 2011 copyright date on it. Geoffrey.landis (talk) 17:24, 12 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

This article is titled Ian McDonald (British author); his page on Wikiquote is Ian McDonald. As a result, the Wikiquote link does not link to his Wikiquote page. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thank you. Markjoseph125 (talk) 23:28, 26 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The "Chaga Saga"

[edit]

This section of the article reads like original research, or one critic's view of the text. At the very least, we need to extract matters of opinion from matters of fact. This is a big task, and one that I'm not qualified to do, as I've only read the first volume of the "saga". I hope someone takes up the challenge... RomanSpa (talk) 14:09, 23 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Agree with this sentiment. I removed the more blatantly opinionated phrases, which read like a book review. However, I left behind ones that maybe could be improved with verifiable citations. I tagged those with the Opinion template, so I hope others can hone in on them and fix the problem. — 173.60.134.88 (talk) 20:06, 24 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I have added Out on Blue Six (book) Suggestion

[edit]

Would anybody be willing to help edit Out on Blue Six (book)? In particular I feel that the article requires more sources?

In particular I'm looking for the tweet in which Ian McDonald claimed that his book was the inspiration for the name of a 90's BBC Radio series.

This seems to be one of McDonald's least well received books, and other than Cory Doctorow, nobody seems to have given it much attention.--Salimfadhley (talk) 21:40, 5 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Bibliography

[edit]

I have commenced a tidy-up of the Bibliography section using cite templates. Capitalization and punctuation follow standard cataloguing rules in AACR2 and RDA, as much as Wikipedia templates allow it. ISBNs and other persistent identifiers, where available, are commented out, but still available for reference. Feel free to continue. Sunwin1960 (talk) 05:31, 31 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
