I've re- formatted part of the article, and in doing so discovered that it seems to have been copied and pasted, in large parts, from http://idukki.nic.in/dam-hist.htm. I do not know the copyright status of this website, but it would be good to see it re- phrased and citing sources from other materials. HJ Mitchell (talk) 22:15, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Features

[edit]

The features section says that the Idukki Dam is Asia's biggest arch dam. This information is false. Xiaowan Dam in China is much bigger in terms of height, length and capacity. Commenting the section until the information is corrected. Pranavashok (talk) 15:42, 25 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Laxiwa Dam and Amir Kabir Dam (technically in Asia) are taller too. Thanks for pointing that out. In the future you can just remove the information as well.--NortyNort (Holla) 03:39, 27 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Source?

[edit]

QUOTE: As per history, Shri Chemban Karuvellayan Kolumban, the head of 'Oorali' race during 1922, showed the way to the Malankara Estate Superintendent W.J.John and his friend AC Thomas Edattu, who were on hunting spree in the forest, the spot of present Arch Dam. END OF QUOTE.

The insidious use insertion of the words 'hunting spree' is one issue. Then the presence of AC Thomas Edattu also might need to be mentioned more clearly with regard to 'hunting'.
