Perhaps the mine is a main attraction to ubergeeks who let the NRHP dictate to them what to visit when traveling. Otherwise, the main attractions in Indian are Diamond Jim's and Indian Valley Meats. Diamond Jim's popularity mostly has to do with their promotion of the "Hardcore Alaskan" brand and selling clothing bearing that logo and design, which they've been doing for at least a quarter century. I know that I've bought so many of those t-shirts over the years, I should try and claim an interest in the place. Columnist Julia O'Malley of the then-Anchorage Daily News wrote "But over the last 50 years, the large light-bulb diamond with its neon arrow has become a landmark in Indian" back in 2012.
