Location[edit]

We have a perfectly reliable source, written by Upinder Singh, that examines various pieces of evidence regarding possible locations for Indraprastha. The article reflects the uncertainty and, given that Singh is citing various experts, it is totally non-neutral to say in the lead that without doubt Indraprastha was on the site of prese-day Delhi. Sitush I apologizes for the misunderstanding, actually I have not seen the talkpage, well my concern is that I have found some of the references that Delhi was ancient Indraprastha and even the references added in the article having the same details. I am worried if he is right because the entire history have to been changed. Please read following articles (I doubt if they are even wrong)-

There was nothing about this on the talk page until you had twice revised the lead, so no problem there. We do not rely on what other Wikipedia articles say because Wikipedia is itself not a reliable source. However, if any of those articles mention the siting of ancient Indraprastha and have reliable sources to support the statement then we could consider them. Singh is a historian, she is referring to other historians, to archaeologists, epigraphists etc and thus has quite a lot of academic weight behind her arguments. Unless, of course, the claim is that she is misrepresenting what those people say. - Sitush (talk) 20:57, 13 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

WOWIndian, the fact that various facilities in Delhi have been named after Indraprastha is of no relevance whatsoever to this discussion, which solely concerns whether Wikipedia should be asserting as a historical fact that Indraprastha was sited in what is now Delhi.
