Romanisation[edit]

No, It wouldn't be so under Hepburn. The "O" and "U" represent separate vowels. Also, "no" and "ue" represent separate morphemes. —Tokek (talk) 06:32, 24 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Should Japanese named be listed as "Inoue Givenname"?[edit]

I did this in "Politics or Business" because it was mostly there anyway, but probably the whole page should have a consistent style. Most but not all of the linked-to articles use Japanese name order. If there's any risk of confusion to the reader, a brief note in the lead would handle that. Winouhe[edit]

Since Hepburn romanization is phonetic, and historical kana orthography definitely isn't, it seems nonsensical to apply hepburn on it. --Kaledomo (talk) 05:52, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
