Online edition of Encyclopedia of Systems Science and Cybernetics Online (ESSCO)?[edit]

Possible update? Ryoung999 (talk) 11:45, 21 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

BCSSS page here

http://www.bcsss.org/research/projects/current-projects/encyclopedia-of-systems-science-and-cybernetics-online-essco/

suggests that (in 2008?)

"Charles François ...handed over the continuation of the encyclopedia to the next generation. The BCSSS took that task over in close collaboration with the International Federation for Systems Research (IFSR)."

and that a (2008) proposal was put forward to create a new online encyclopaedia, based on ESSCO but also amalgamating other encyclopaedias.

No details found on whether this proposal was progressed by BCSSS.

No details on publisher's viewpoint on 'handed over' or online proposal.

However, in 2013, BCSSS announced a related thesis: "A master thesis at the Faculty of Informatics of the Vienna University of Technology in 2013 explored current open-source research platforms allowing collaboration for tasks relating to the build-up of an encyclopedia."

(ps. New to wikipedia editing)

Looks like IFSR have developed a free, third, online edition:
