POV pushing[edit]

I've replaced the original name of a reference which was "Mercy for Animals". It seems to me to be the most ridiculous sort of POV-pushing to alter reference names to fit the editor's POV. These names are not even seen by readers and are only used to simplify the repeated use of a citation by giving it a label - and obviously should not be changed at a whim as it could break the re-use of a citation.

Secondly I've restored the phrase "Animal rights organizations" in place of "Animal advocates" (whatever they may be), because the source cited begins "An animal-rights organization founded and headed by a gay man is calling on .... We must follow the way that our sources describe the groups, not invent something that has no currency in the works we cite. --RexxS (talk) 03:27, 26 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I've made some adjustments in the text you changed as well because they are not neutral and are expressing and opinion - yours. Try to leave your opinions at the door. We all have opinions but we just can't allow then to creep into encyclopedic content. We cannot try to to convince the reader of anything, but we just give them information and allow them to decide for themselves what position they want to take. I suspect you are passionate about some issues on rodeo, which I can understand, but this isn't were those issues can be dealt with. Make sure to discuss any further changes any of us wants to make on the talk page since this article has now become contentious.

  • Forms 990 filed with the IRS by IGRA and its chapters provide public information about their charitable donations.

Not sure what this is. It seems a reference to a source in order to make a point. Further the source is not named and it would be a primary source anyway. There's no reason for this content actually; its non encyclopedic.

  • I've removed "claims" for the more neutral "says". See WP:CLAIM. Claims implies a lack of credibility which is not neutral. Its not up to editors to introduce content that questions credibility.
  • "Some" is vague. We can money which readers understand does not necessarily mean all of the money.(Littleolive oil (talk) 19:20, 26 August 2014 (UTC))[reply]

Sources lead paragraph above[edit]

I've checked sources and so adjusted the above discussed paragraph to both reflect those sources and to revert to a paragraph that was closer to the sources than what was in place today. However, the article needs sources/reference added on this content, unless I'm missing it. I'm done WP for today but will add content and sources in the next few days.(Littleolive oil (talk) 20:41, 26 August 2014 (UTC))[reply]
