Iran B vs Iraq[edit]

The match played behind closed doors on 18 March 2017. The team was Iran B team consisted of local PGPL players and few players from the Iran bench players. It was attended by Oceano Da Cruz, Iran national team assistant manager and Iran B head coach. A quick look at line up and squad shows this fact. Fifa.com stats had this match wrongly recorded as Iran A team. Fifa.com has made numerous mistakes in the past regarding number of friendlies, name of players or even squads. It should not be surprise that they made this mistake. Do a quick search about Iranian past matches in Fifa.com and compare it with other sources like www.11v11.com for head to head results and you can see Fifa.com stats lacks info about of a lot of matches.--WisperShadow (talk) 14:42, 20 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

from when Oceano Cruz is the head coach of Iran B team ? Iran do not have a B team for a while. Queiroz himself was in the match and was angry about the Iranian referee who gave penalty to Iraq Source. FIFA might have so many mistakes but nowadays they monitor friendly matches closely for FIFA ranking and this match was indeed included in FIFA ranking making it a FIFA A international match. simply. Can you provide the name of Iranian players. None of our 10-12 European based players were involved in that match. Even some of our own local league players were not invited too. Saudi Arabia had friendlies played just like this match and Fifa didn't count them as their A team. It is also not in fifa records. Can you tell me why should this be recorded as Iranian A team result? I can not find Iranian squad list in English, all we can use is Iranian reporters in Persian which shows the team was an experimental league based missing even some Iranian NT players from PGPL. Please use a reliable source other than Khabaronline. That source is just yellow journalism spreading lies all the times. --WisperShadow (talk) 22:02, 20 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@WisperShadow: Can you provide at least one WP:reliable source for your claim that the game was Iran B game? Vanjagenije (talk) 17:19, 21 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@WisperShadow: @Mohsen1248: @Vanjagenije: In response to WisperShadow saying "It was attended by Oceano Da Cruz, Iran national team assistant manager and Iran B head coach", I have found a post from Carlos Queiroz's (Iran A team manager) official Facebook page where Quieroz says: "We have 8 players performing in Europe and they will arrive in camp only 3 days before game, on March 20. The rest of our squad will rest and have recovery work today, after 2 trainings days in Tehran. We will also have technical video match analyses of our training game yesterday against Iraq. Without any doubts Mr Bonyadifar, relevant Iranian(?) referee, owns a word of public apologies to our National Team players and supporters." This proves a number of things, first thing is that other than the 8 players in Europe, the rest of the A team squad was present in the game as it says they had 2 training days in Tehran (where the Iraq friendly was) so it wasn't a B team. Secondly it shows that Queiroz (A team manager) was at the game, rather than the B team coach that WisperShadow was talking about. Thirdly, Queiroz says "public apologies to our National Team players" showing that it was an Iran national team match. None of this is even necessary seeing as every source on the page lists this Iraq game but I thought I would share this to end all doubt. Hashim-afc (talk) 18:43, 21 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
