Dornálíocht-Boxing[edit]

Boxing owes much of its history to fist fighting techniques in Celtic lands, especially Ireland. Many of the early professional boxers were from Ireland in both England and the U.S.A. Pugilism is the original form of boxing and was widely practiced in Ireland throughout the years. There were no gloves or additional padding used in these bouts, today it is better known as Bare Knuckle Boxing or BKB. In Ireland the "Traveling Community" still take part in this art and take great pride in there Boxing history. They have a reputation as hard fighting bare knuckle boxers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fear Throid (talkcontribs) 19:26, 10 December 2008‎
