Reginald Butler, Ishmael's father, has passed away.[edit]
I know this because my father was friends with him. Given that he was a historian, and not very well known as far as I know, I don't know what kind of source we can use for that information. I was just thinking that in the sentence "His father is a history professor at the University of Virginia," the "is" should be changed to "was."
