Once upon a time, Jaisalmer and Karauli states were ruled by Jadaun royal families. The Kuldevi of the royal family of Karauli is Kaila Devi (Yogmaya) who was Krishna's sister, daughter of Nandbaba and Yashoda and Yaduvanshi. Vasudeva saved Krishna from death at the hands of Kansa in Gokul by changing from Nanda's daughter Kaila. When Kansa reached the prison to kill the eighth child of Devaki and started killing her, she appeared in the form of a goddess and went to the sky. Archaic Raj sources

Sitush Fylindfotberserk I noticed that this article's lead excessively relies on using raj era sources , one of the source is literally from the year 1896 by Jogendra Nath Bhattacharya, another archaic source from the 1911 reiterating the same, a 1930 report by Indian statutory comission and a 1943 source by Kanaiyalal_Maneklal_Munshi. I am pretty sure , we cannot use such unreliable sources , especially on caste related articles which fall under both the general aswell as discretionary sanctions. @Abhishek0831996 We can't use them - see WP:RAJ. Wouldn't surprise me if the "last best version" is from my last edit to it some years ago but I'm on mobile & it's difficult to check & restore the best version using the app. - Sitush (talk) 13:24, 2 August 2023 (UTC)

Sitush your last edit to this article was around two years ago here, it appears that this article has gone through an expansion since then. Some of the removed stuff has also been reinstated . Abhishek0831996 (talk) 17:16, 3 August 2023 (UTC)

I understand some of the sources come from the "Raj" era, though the British ethnographer James Tod was the one who categorized the 36 Royal Races into the Rajput community. Therefore, if that's the case, we cannot be using the work of James Tod, and cannot classify some clans as "Rajput". No2WesternImperialism (talk) 23:22, 2 August 2023 (UTC)

No2WesternImperialism Welcome to Wikipedia, please see WP:RAJ,WP:RSCASTE and guidelines on identifying reliable sources, also guidelines on how to write lead.Sources such as [1] ,[2] are completely unreliable. Your recent addition [3] cites a 1968 publication of Uttarpradesh District(Kheri) Gazzetteers. Although, I'm unsure about their reliability, their usage on caste articles is usually depreciated. Since they have been removed in past cleanups on this article. Also Sitush how reliable are the ASI surveys for caste articles? I'm asking because they have added one as a source in this edit and article uses another ASI source by Lok Nath Soni, an anthropologist.This source is from a geographer, so cannot be used on this article. And finally other parts of this article are supported by a source from [Encyclopædia Britannica]. Sitush ,You're right,restoring your last revision might be a good idea at this point but if we do that there'll be nothing substantial left on this article,so TNTing it might be a better idea. Apparently, there have been sources from the ASI that pointed out the Yaduvanshi origin of the Jadauns, but the source from Bhattacharya is from 1995. No2WesternImperialism (talk) 18:17, 3 August 2023 (UTC)

The Yaduvanshi (Ahir-Rajput) connection

Many sources have stated that the Jadon Rajputs evolved from Yaduvanshis who like the Ahirs claim descent from Yadu. Hence, some historians link them with the Yadavas and associate themselves as "Yadu Rajputs" or "Yadava Rajputs". No2WesternImperialism (talk) 19:02, 3 August 2023 (UTC)

The Jadaun Rajputs (also spelt as Yadav/Yado/Jado/Jadon/Jadoun) are decendants of King Yadu Decendants of Yadu called as (Yaduvanshi or Yadukul). King Yadu was son of King Yayati Born in Chandravanshi Clan of Kshatriya's. Jadaun Rajputs found in Braj Janapada. Jadauns of Karauli are the Direct Descendants of Lord(Shri)Krishna After Independence The Karauli State(Riyasat) of Jadaun Rajputs merged in morden Rajasthan(Rajputana).

HISTORY Jadauns are the descendants of King Yayati's son Yadu. According to the Puranas, King Yayati had two wives, Sharmishtha and Devyani. Devyani was the daughter of Asura Guru Shukracharya.Yadu was the son of Yayati and Devyani. The Yaduvanshi are the descendents of Yadu. In Sanskrit Yaduvanshi means the family of Yadu.

They also occupied forts of Bijai Garh, built by Pundir Rajputs, at Bayana and Timan Garh near Karauli. Jadons are among the 36 Royal Clans of Rajputs, They are of Chandravanshi lineage and Kuldevi of Jadon's is Keladevi at Karauli (Rajasthan). In Rajasthan, the Jadon are found in Karauli, Bharatpur, Jaipur and Jaisalmer.

Karauli was officially founded in 1348 AD by the Yaduvanshi Rajput, Raja Arjun Pal. This holy city was originally known as Kalyanpuri, after the local deity Kalyanji. Legend has it that the princely state of Karauli (17 Gun salutes) was established by Raja Bijal pal Jadon, The 88th descendent of lord Krishna, as far back as 995 AD.

The 600 year old Karauli City Palace was built probably in the 14th century by the royal family and a magnificent city palace in 1635 AD. The fort and the city palace remains the official residence of the royal family of Karauli till 1938 AD. At that time a much more modern Bhanwar Vilas palace was built by Maharaja Ganesh pal Deo Bhadur.
