What happened to Tilton?[edit]

The entry says that Pym was "murdered" by Tilton. Was Tilton prosecuted? Convicted? Acquitted? Can someone who is a specialist in this area of history provide the rest of the story? Thanks. (71.22.47.232 (talk) 18:04, 20 July 2010 (UTC))[reply]

Tilton was convicted of the lessor manslaughter charge. For an amazingly thorough biography of Pimm/Pym, see http://www.menwithcuster.com/51/ Note that there is little doubt that he was born in 1847, and that his only known given name is James. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.123.139.235 (talk) 01:06, 25 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Death date[edit]

His death date is given multiple dates as reported on the always accurate Internet (November 29, November 31 (sic), and December 6, 1893). A report of his death is given in the Montreal Daily Telegraph of Dec. 1, 1893. http://news.google.com/newspapers?id=qOQpAAAAIBAJ&sjid=wtIEAAAAIBAJ&pg=1401,6831866&dq=veteran-of-custer-fight-killed&hl=en Nov. 31 is not a real date, Dec. 6 is a week after the newspaper report of his death. It seems reasonable it would 2 days for the news to be printed in a Montreal newspaper. Kaltenmeyer (talk) 00:37, 6 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
