Review[edit]

Some notes to start:

a) Specific name > specific epithet

done - I used to do this initially but some reviewers found "epithet" too jargony...still can be argued that epithet is more exacting in meaning than name Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 10:21, 17 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

b) "and generally uncorrected by subsequent authors." is this in one of the refs?

Yes. Brongersma (1936) points that out. I added a note to help for future reference. Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 10:23, 17 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

c) "pointed the correct spelling" > corrected the spelling to

e) the image doesn't have a caption

added Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 11:31, 17 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

f) subcaudal > wiktionary linked

linked at first instance to WP page - generally only use Wikt when WP lacking~~

g) can we get a phylogeny? I can make it for you if you want.

that would be great! Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 11:39, 17 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

h) "The general consensus is" is this reffed?

Yes - FN 11 reports that most authorities regard sexes as roughly equal in size but the field research in Nigeria found otherwise Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 00:41, 18 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

i) "The number and pattern of scales on a snake's body are a key element of identification to species level" > The number and pattern of scales on a snake's body play a key role in the identification and differentiation at the species level.

predators[edit]

If any study has shown that the species of birds which hunt these snakes are resistant to its venom, please add to the article - that would be of great interest. 50.111.6.149 (talk) 12:32, 16 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Are those birds resistant or do their feathers protect them from the snake's fangs?
