@BrookyTH: It would take considerable effort to incorporate any of these changes as they are not correctly formatted to be inserted. Volunteers tend to resent doing work for someone else who is getting paid to do it - see WP:CITE for how to do it properly. In addition, the source quality is still poor or non-existent for many of these proposed changes. Regardless of sourcing, #2 and #7 are 100% PR and do not belong here. Some proposed changes[edit]

Hi @smartse

I have now added references in the format you asked for - please let me know if this has been done correctly. I've also removed proposed changes 2 and 7.

All these changes are factually accurate and backed up by credible sources - I'd really appreciate if the amendments could be made. Happy to do it myself, but wanted to check first.

These might seem like minor changes, but they are important as the current information is either out of date or not accurate

Change 1: Introduction

Can we add the following to the send of this section:

"He was the founder of JBW Group (a debt collection firm) in 2004 and then Hito (A FinTech company) which he founded in 2016. He sold both businesses for over £40 million and now operates a private equity fund, Firestarters.co.uk. [1]

He is married with two children and lives in London"

Change 2: Businesses

Can we add the following to the send of this section:

"Waller then went onto work in the debt recovery industry as an enforcement agent where in his early career he was held hostage at gun point." [2]

Change 3: JBW Group

Jamie is no longer the Chairman of JBW Group (this is not accurate).

Could we change the opening line to:

"Waller founded JBW Group in 2004 and sold the business to the Japanese outsourcing firm, OSI in 2016. He remained in the business for one year as Chairman until selling his remaining shares in 2017" [3]

Change 4: Case Dynamics Limited

Can we change the title of this section to "Hito Limited [4]

Can we change the copy to:

"Hito Limited [5] (previously called Case Dynamics Limited) was launched in 2016. Waller sold the business just six months after product launch for a reported £9m." [6]

Change 5: Firestarters

Could we add a new section called "Firestarters" please, with the following copy: "Waller launched Firestarters a private equity vehicle in 2017.[3] The business invests in a variety of businesses from consultancy services to car sales."

@BrookyTH: As you'll see I've made quite a few changes to the article in order to clean up the mess left by previous undisclosed paid editors. Could you please email me a copy of the article in the Times so that I can read it in full? I've added about him founding firestarters but need to look at it in more detail before adding more. #2 is already covered by "Waller started working as debt collector but quit at the age of 21" - I don't see why being held hostage is pertinent in the grand scheme of things. #3 I have removed this. You haven't included a link for your proposed change so I can't look into whether it should be included. #4 These are both primary sources. We don't aim to include every last detail of every business he founded - only ones that independent sources consider important. #5 - same as number one, but if there is more relevant info in the Times there might be more to add. SmartSE (talk) 13:46, 22 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@BrookyTH: Thanks for a copy of the article. I've read it but it doesn't mention Hito at all, so I can't include anything about that referenced to it as you requested. Similarly, it does not say two businesses were sold for £40 million. There are some details that could be included like the motorbike team and the general idea of firestarters, but you will need to come up with something neutral and verifiable before I can add it. Edit request[edit]

Dear editor, I would like to request several changes and additions to Jamie Waller's page.

I have requested these changes before, but the response was the sources are not "reliable enough" - I'd really appreciate a second look, because these sources are independent, everything is accurate and the changes we are asking for are minor, but extremely important.

The proposed changes are as follows (I have bolded proposed changes):

1) Jamie B. Waller (born 21 February 1979)[1] is a British entrepreneur and businessman. He founded the debt collection company JBW Group in 2004 and then Hito (A FinTech company) which he founded in 2016 Hito. He sold both businesses for over £40m BM Magazine Startups and now operates a £13m private equity fund, Firestarters.co.uk the times. He is married with two children and lives in London.

2) Charities

Could we add a section called "Charities" with the following copy

In 2017 the Jamie Waller foundation (http://www.jamiewaller.co.uk/foundation/) was set-up and is currently supporting a number of causes including The Princes Trust princes trust link, Enterprise Scheme where Waller is Patron of the Trust and The Imps Motorcycle Display Team where Waller was once a member Jamie Waller Imps Imps JBW. 3) Early Life and Education

Could we add...

In 2018 Cranfield University names Waller as their Entrepreneur Alumnus of the year Cranfield7

4) Under "Career" please could we add a section on "Hito Limited Hito"

"Hito Limited (previously called Case Dynamics Limited) was launched in 2016. Waller sold the business just six months after product launch for a reported £9m. " Hito sale

5) Could we also add a section on Firestarters under Career

Waller launched Firestarters the times a private equity vehicle in 2017. Firestarters is an investment campaign that is focused on helping entrepreneurs and businesses that may otherwise be overlooked by traditional investors.

Change 7: Media Section

Could we add to the media section

Waller is the author of the business book; Unsexy Business Unsexy Business.

As you'll see above I've already discussed this with BrookyTH and also via email. I have explained the need to have everything sourced to independent, reliable sources, but still >90% of this is to primary sources and my suggestion to source something to the Times article about the motorbike team hasn't come to anything. SmartSE (talk) 19:15, 3 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
This request was addressed on Feb 20 and Feb 22 by SmartSE, who on both of those dates laid out what was required for inclusion. The newest request contains older proposals from those dates, including the media section with the subject's products and a charities section showing the subject's support of WP:WORTHYCAUSES. The thresholds described by the reviewing editor at that time have yet to be met by the COI editor.  Spintendo      19:39, 3 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

02-JAN-2018[edit]

Dear Wiki team. I would really like to update my Wiki page as it's currently out of date. As you'll see we've requested changes before (via my PR) which were not accepted because the sources were not considered to be independent.

I've gone back through everything and have updated the sources and requests so everything is purely factual.

If you are happy with the below I can make the changes myself, but understand we need to run everything past you in the first instance.

Jamie
