How to Handle Publication change[edit]

This comic book was first published by DDP, but now for issues 4,5,and 6 will be run by IDW. I wanted to know what people thought about how we should change the info box? Should DDP stay as the first? Should all the material be changed to show the new publication? Should there be a new WIKI Page (I am semi against this unless someone has a compelling reason), or can a page have two info boxes? As I do not do a lot of updating of (comic/graphic novels) wiki pages I would ask for some input from the group that sets these up.Jsgoodrich (talk) 14:50, 20 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

summit[edit]

The word 'summit' is inappropriate, I think. A summit meeting is between heads of government, and it's implied here (I haven't read the book) that neither the Governor of Texas nor the President of the (Eastern) United States is present. —Tamfang (talk) 20:22, 14 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Issue 1 does use the word summit. It's on page 14. Jake calls it a summit in a question to Hawkings. --Pdurland (talk) 04:01, 27 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well then, we'll use the word summit if, for some reason, we directly quote Jake. Otherwise we're not obligated to echo his error. —Tamfang (talk) 02:03, 29 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
This is more an observation than fact, but if you watch the series Jake often quips about Hawkings' seemingly insane career. In the final episode of Jericho, in the last few minutes Jake and Hawkings joke that they started a war, and Jake jokes to him something like "Probably not your first." What I'm driving at is that, in the panels prior to Jake using the word 'summit' Hawkings has someone at gunpoint, and as we see in the series again and again he's most likely interrogating him. Jake using the word 'summit', knowing the banter that exists between these two, can reasonably be assumed he's using the word correctly but ironically, in that while Hawkings isn't any sort of world leader or a head of government, he has had direct influences over national politics. 24.224.214.11 (talk) 18:33, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

removal of subheads[edit]

Oops, my finger slipped as I was composing my edit summary. I took out the subheads "Synopsis" and "Recap", because if I see a panel-by-panel retelling of a subsequent issue I'm gonna prune it down just like I did for issue 1; saving readers the trouble of finding the comic itself is not part of our purpose here. —Tamfang (talk) 17:21, 22 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

morse code[edit]

Not sure if this should be in the article, but the morse code for issue 1 in the front cover translates into "You can't shut this down." The episodes had the morse code embedded, but I don't know if each section should have the morse code and translation as a sub-heading or not. --Pdurland (talk) 03:58, 27 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think the morse code should be listed as a sub heading, in the article with a smaller sub heading. Just my two-centsJsgoodrich (talk) 04:25, 27 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Cheyenne[edit]

The link to Cheyenne currently points to Cheyenne, Wyoming; I'm going to redirect it to Cheyenne Mountain, since the military facility inside the mountain is where the Cheyenne Government would be based. Fredrickharmon (talk) 17:00, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Great idea, except that the series explicitly puts the new capital in Wyoming. Episodes set there do not show any conspicuous mountain nor underground scenes so far as I can recall. —Tamfang (talk) 21:40, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I think we should rethink this edit, because in the show they capital was being built right in the city, not at the base. The Capital was outside the window in the last episodie with Jake and Hawkings meet. Jsgoodrich (talk) 20:09, 18 January 2010 (UTC) I have replaced my comment on this edit which was removedJsgoodrich (talk) 01:16, 21 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Rethink which – the statement that the new capital is Cheyenne Mountain (Colorado), or my reversion to the city of Cheyenne (Wyoming)? —Tamfang (talk) 18:59, 23 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The capital in the show is not located in the Mountain, in the last show it is down down in new Cheyenne. I do not think the redirect should be there. It should go to the town of Cheyenne. Jsgoodrich (talk) 04:18, 26 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
