Disambiguation[edit]

Wasn't Jethro Tull the man who developed crop rotation in England? Perhaps it might be better to use a topic heading of Jethro Tull (Band) or a disambiguation page. - 206.15.46.129

Good point. I was wondering about that. - DrewT2

I think he invented the seed drill or something didn't he? Some kind of agricultural fellow anyway. But really, I think the band is better known today than the man - personally I wouldn't worry too much about this until somebody decides to write about JT himself (although there are plenty who would disagree with me). --Camembert
I agree. The band is far more widely known. --mav
Is the person also known by a middle name? That would be an easy way to naturally disambiguate. Otherwise the person will just have to be at a parenthetical title. --mav
Okay, I just wrote Jethro Tull (agriculturist) and put in a link to Jethro Tull (band). If no one else will do it, I will perform the rest of the disambiguation, but since I really don't like Jethro Tull's music I'd prefer that a fan take care of it. The seed man was really important to the whole world, the band isn't, except to its fans. In other words, I think this is a case for a real dismbiguation and not an apologetic aside off this article. I just want to say that just because I moved the page and made the disambiguation doesn't mean I am necessarily a fan of the band... I'll let someone else remove the "one legged flute playing" comment, by the way. I've got to entertain myself somehow ;) --Camembert

Jethro Tull wasn't the guy who introduced a crop rotation idea in England; that was Charles Townshend. (At least that's what my text book says) -Kyle — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.141.49.2 (talkcontribs)

Quite right, Kyle, and thanks for your contributions. I hope you've created a userid and will keep contributing, as unfortunately some of your fellow students have been so disruptive that your school (former school by now I guess) has been blocked for anonymous edits. Excellent result, people. I came here sure I'd find the band at Jethro Tull (undisambiguated). This is a classic case where a two-way DAB is the way to go. Andrewa (talk) 17:54, 10 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
