Today's edits[edit]

Aside from being unreferenced, this article has a promotional tone and doesn't adhere to WikiProject Comics formatting, among other issues. I've addressed some of these things, but this article needs a lot more work. --Tenebrae (talk) 18:38, 8 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Collected edition summaries[edit]

I believe this article needs at least some brief mention of the plots of the more important stories. Every independent comics page I have seen does this in some way, ranging from one-line summaries of each arc (See: Fables, Love & Rockets) to paragraph summaries for each one (See: Cerebus the Aardvark, Sandman (Vertigo)) to separate sub-pages (See: Preacher). With Jingle Belle the situation is more awkward as it is not organized into arcs, but primarily into one-shots and short stories. I have tried to address this by adding a summary of the contents of each collected edition, though this is not ideal because the collections are not self-contained story arcs but collections of unconnected stories. If this edit is deemed unsuitable by other editors, I request a discussion on the matter here. --Adc1966 (talk) 17:08, 18 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Issue-by-issue (or in this case collection-by-collection) plot summaries are a violation of WP:CMOS#PLOT. It's also promotional in nature. We're following WP:BRD in that I was reverted and we brought the issue to the talk page in order to reach consensus. However, consensus on this issue was already reached and your inclusion of this material is in violation of WIkiProject Comics MOS. Also, the argument Wikipedia:Other stuff exists is frowned upon, since when other articles violation policy / guidelines / MOS, we're expected to address those issues on those other articles, even if only by tagging. We don't use other articles' violations to justify violations elsewhere. I could point to innumerable WIki Project Comics articles that list collections and do not include violative collection-by-collection summaries.
If you disagree and think Jingle Belle should be an exception to the MOS, then the proper forum for that is an WP:RfC--Tenebrae (talk) 08:44, 25 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
