Untitled[edit]

I think Tony Mantegna deserves a photo of himself on his own wikipedia entry, rather than a pic of 'Fat Tony' from The Simpsons.. Whatever did he do to deserve such disrespect? : ) Dirk Diggler Jnr

a proud chicago native- i believe he started a restauraunt called taste of Chicago in pasadena so he could have easy access to his favorite chicago specialties. he has also appeared on WGN broadcast(s) of Cub games.

Italian-American ? or American ?[edit]

So is he American, or Italian-American ? The article says he was born in Chicago, which I think is enough to call him American. Ohyeahmormons changed him from "an American actor" to "an Italian-American actor". It's just my opinion, but I think we should call him American. The article then goes on to say he is of Italian-American descent, which is fair enough. The article does not need two links to Italian-American. Does he have dual Italian and American nationality ? Does he describe himself as Italian-American ? If the answer to either of these is "yes" then Ohyeahmormons' edit should be allowed to stand. If the answer to both is "no" then I think we should revert Ohyeahmormons' edit to show him as being American, and leave the Italian-American reference to his family. Any one got any other opinions ? We don't include ethnicity in header either way, per the manual of style. Mad Jack 07:45, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

HI -- I AGREE WITH U ON THS. THENK OF IT. CHRIS ROCK END WILL SMETH ARND'T LISTED AS AFRICAN AMERICAN ACTORS ON THERE WIKERPEDIEER PAGES - NO - THERE LESTED AS AMERICAN. SO WHY THEN WOULD WE LIST HIM AS END ITALYEN AMERICAN? RIGHT.

Bias[edit]

Isn't this a bit biased for a wikipedia article?

the waterboy[edit]

The waterboy reference, while funny, is minutia. I am deleting it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.102.196.38 (talk) 09:04, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

FlunkedTheFilm[edit]

He just appeared in a documentary on education. Someone may want to check it out and add. See http://flunkedthemovie.com/trailer.php —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.221.15.19 (talk) 01:44, 31 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Audio Book Reader?[edit]

How about mentioning the Audio Books that he has read. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.10.204.170 (talk) 06:21, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Norman Mailer[edit]

The article on Mailer's pen-knife assault on his wife Adele needs a typographical correction,. The article misspells Mantegna's name (as Mantega), in a reference to the doc. film made by Mantegna concerning this incident. I do not know how to make this correction. Also, this article needs a reference to this work of mantegna's — Preceding unsigned comment added by 47.16.67.80 (talk) 06:26, 5 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Pronunciation of the name[edit]

I'm sorry, but every time I hear how this guys name is pronounced I think that it should be written with 'ng' not 'gn'. Is this some kind of local pronunciation in US?

Linkato1 (talk) 18:59, 29 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

He's of Italian descent and, in Italian, "gn" is generally pronounced as "nee". Other Italian words like "magna" and "lasagna" share the same principle. RomeW (talk) 15:05, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Three Amigos a box office hit?[edit]

It's a notorious flop. It certainly shouldn't be listed before Godfather III. I suspect it was inserted as a joke. Unless anyone objects, I'll replace Three Amigos with something more noteworthy.61.93.86.104 (talk) 13:48, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
