Changes

I made a couple changes, firstly I changed one of the songs listed as "Lost Sailor>Saint of Circumstance" to be listed individually, they were seperately written songs and even though the dead often played them together and common fan notation is to write it this way, it is not appropriate for an article. Secondly I changed the line that previously read "Barlow also began to work with keyboardist Brent Mydland in a collaboration that threatned to upstage his work with Weir and Vince Welnick." which made no sense, as Welnick didnt work with Barlow until after Mydlands death, so it would be impossible for Mydland to upstage Welnick! I went ahead and removed the upstaging mention all together(seemed kind of odd thing to say) and simply added that Barlow collaborated with Welnick and Mydland as well. Republican?

This part seems odd:

Barlow has subsequently declared that he is a [[Republican]]<ref> The Colbert Report, episode first aired March 26, 2007</ref>.

Is the Colbert Report of sufficient truthiness here? Or is this advanced satire? -- 88.90.147.119 21:26, 28 March 2007 (UTC) I don't know if he is currently a republican, but he is occasionally a Republican. -- Joi 08:16, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

Source

Q: What is the source for the story about the Hunter/Weir/Barlow interaction? Curious.

A: It's a well-known story. I would link you up to the dead.net archives, but dead.net is no longer a Grateful Dead site in the sense that it is about 90% commercial. No more band history. I assume you can read more about it in McNally's book, but I've never read it. I found it interesting when I saw Ratdog that they did no (or almost no) Barlow material; that makes me think it wasn't so much a falling out as much as "if you don't use my words, why should I write them?" You know? Also please sign your name with four tildes from now on so we know who you are where you are and how you are. Peace. M. Luke Myers 01:43, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

A2: Actually, this is backwards. Hunter tells Barlow "take him, he's yours", in reference to Weir. This is from the McNally book, p384. I'll make the change. Todd.drake (talk) 17:00, 3 May 2009 (UTC).

birthplace

I changed John's birthplace to Sublette County, probably Cora, where the Bar Cross Ranch is(was?), up the Green River Valley from Pinedale. This is noted correctly in the bio and in his web page at www.eff.org/~barlow. Sublette County is definitely not Jackson Hole; its residents would not be happy to be referred to thusly! As I sit with Mr. John Perry Barlow at this very moment I asked him just that, were where you born? He very clearly said "Jackson Hole" as his mother was 42 years old at the time and was carrying twins, and had never given birth before.
There for she had to go the closest hospital which was in Jackson Hole. He did in fact grow up in Cora. I may add more as I can, but I feel this type of guessing a crime as the man alive and fairly easy to find and talk to.
I will say this there a tremendous amount more to this living legend then stated here. (losiron 10/23/07...sitting with the man him self) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Losiron (talkcontribs) 17:33, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

Wow! Reading this thanks to [1] has been a Buckaroo Banzai moment! Thanks Wikipedia! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.176.122.34 (talk) 22:09, 25 May 2011 (UTC)

e-G8

I couldn't see a good spot to mention JPB's contribution at the recent E-G8 Forum. Seems notable. Refs: [2], [3], [4]. Wwwhatsup (talk) 05:44, 12 June 2011 (UTC)

johndrew vandalism

I tried to repair the vandalism on the page with a simple "undo" but failed to undo *all* of the vandalism... the Infobox remains damaged, I don't feel competent to fix it up right... hope someone will find it and fix it better than I did. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.19.38.225 (talk) 07:19, 7 December 2011 (UTC)
