Theyer collection[edit]

It could be that this is all a lot less simple than is made out. It seems that little of what went to the British Museum was from Llanthony, for example. Scott is said to have culled the collection before selling to the King, but it seems quite likely that bargaining went on and the diminution of the number of items could reflect that.
