John Vartan first graduated from Michigan Tech with a degree in engineering; he later earned a masters degree from Penn State Harrisburg. He formed his own company in the 70s after working for a time at Gannet Fleming, a consulting firm. He made a great impact on the Harrisburg region and was always attempting to improve the area in which he lived in.
