Untitled[edit]

This is an article clearly written by one of the publicists for Streisand, Gruber, or whoever has conjured up the lawsuit against Peters. I don't know much about Peters or the situation, but this is unequivocally one of the most unabashedly biased and overtly one-sided articles I have ever seen on Wikipedia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.40.251.117 (talk) 18:38, 24 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Is this individual not sufficiently covered at Barbra Streisand and Lesley Ann Warren? Can there be any further encyclopedia-worthy information?

He is notable enough to have his own article. JW 19:21, 19 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

You mean he's a big enough douchebag.

He has moved into Real Estate investing.

"Douch Bag" perhaps (do you have valid sources for that?), but certainly notable for having managed and produced several Streisand records and dozzens of "B" movies. Proxy User (talk) 20:28, 2 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • There has GOT to be more information on this guy out there - for all the crap (deservedly) heaped on him for the 'Superman Lives!' nonsense (thanks, Kevin, top story...), surely there's more to tell. The guy IS listed as exec producer on 'Superman Returns', he must be doing something right. And lets be honest, he's done his fair share of flicks and apparently he was on set pretty perminantly on 'Batman', that was 'his baby'. I'm going to look into this and get back to it when I've got time... Thumbsucker-UK, 28 July 2006
      • There actually is quite a bit of info on the man. I used to have a book that described his and Peter Guber's rise in Hollywood, and how they managed to bilk Sony (via Columbia Pictures) out of a heap of money. It had a complete and rather detailed biography of his early and professional life. Can't remember the name of the book, though. Shostie (talk) 17:25, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Devoting half his article on such a trivial topic such as proposing a spider in the superman script is ridiculous. I'm taking it out, and will continue to do so, Its not encyclopedic and deserves a brief mention at best.

        • The book to which Shostie refers is listed in the endnotes, note 6 (I think), namely, 'Hit and Run'; it is the best source I know for the life of Peters. Incidentally, Peters is worthy of note, not only for 'Batman', but also for his work with Streisand on 'A Star is Born' and his bizarre, aggressive character. Grantsky (talk) 14:10, 4 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Who are you? I found the anecdote to be illustrative and interesting. If you don't like it, revise it or find something better to show that Peters is seen as irrational and a poor producer by many. You can't delete information when there's a dearth of information; you haven't fixed a thing. 67.175.167.28 15:57, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
A note from the future. This guy is indeed notable. Somehow he seems to have done a lot, and nearly all of it badly. This article is fair and balanced and just seems to read like he is indeed a douchebag. No need to edit anything, he's rich but it appears no-one likes him and he's no good Sirhissofloxley (talk) 22:23, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

A bit of a mess[edit]

Which has now had some of the most egregious stuff removed. Some of the sources do not meet WP:RS requirements, and some of the tabloid gossip does not belong. Collect (talk) 19:06, 9 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Edit-warring[edit]

A discussion about edit-warring at this article and at the related Pamela Anderson article has been started at Talk:Pamela Anderson#Edit-warring. For convenience, I suggested centralizing both discussions there.--Tenebrae (talk) 21:25, 9 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Pamela Anderson marriage[edit]

An editor at Pamela Anderson has claimed Pamela Anderson said her Jon Peters marriage was annulled, rather than ending in divorce. Yet no cite was provided and a quick check on the Internet turns up no such quote. We cannot make a personal-life claim of annulment without WP:RS citing. That's a WP:BLP violation. And claims that because a marriage license was not filed means the marriage was not valid is POV WP:SYNTH — we aren't California state matrimonial lawyers who can say that, and even if we were, that'd be OR. Anderson says she and Peters were never married; he representative said they were. All we can do is give both statements neutrally. --Tenebrae (talk) 14:14, 19 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Very confused sentence[edit]

“While growing up in a rough neighborhood, Peters's father died when he was eight years old and his mother later remarried”

This literally says that Peter’s father died at the age of 8 while (the father was) growing up in a rough neighborhood. Very precious young man. 69.116.185.163 (talk) 02:58, 25 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
