Present / past tense in biography section[edit]

When describing the plot of a story in an article about that story, we use the present tense. But when describing the biography of a fictional character who appears in several stories, it looks weird to use the present tense, and the reason for using the present tense in a story article doesn't apply. Recurring adversaries[edit]

Maybe add PJ Maybe and Judge Edgar, there really aren't that many villains who last a long time in Dredd and have a large effect on the overall canon. The only other villain I could immediately think of was Judge Cal, although killed off in his first storyline different versions and clones popped up over the years to cause problems for Dredd.143.159.78.3 (talk) 20:38, 17 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Good call, thanks. Richard75 (talk) 22:23, 17 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Another recurring adversarie to consider, Chopper, Dredd considers him one that got away. Also the line about Judge Death being Dredds arch enemy I don't think thats accurate. Dredd sees all his perps the same no matter what or how severe their crimes and Death himself doesn't seem to consider Dredd his nemesis. He sees Anderson and psis as his biggest threat. He has even gone out of the way in the past to target Anderson because os this. 109.156.154.164 (talk) 19:08, 18 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Chopper only met Dredd three times, and the first time was for graffiti, but let's see what other people think. I would say that Judge Death is certainly Dredd's arch-enemy, but that doesn't mean that Dredd is Death's. I don't agree that Dredd sees all perps as the same, he gives them different sentences depending on what they've done. Richard75 (talk) 19:21, 18 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I really thought there was more with Chopper, but with I should clarify that "Dredd sees all his perps the same" bit. Dredd has said many times throughout the comic a variation of the line "I don't care what your reason is your just another perp to me". He groups all criminals together as people he need to bring to justice, regardless of what they did no crime is too minor to be ignored and the Dark Judges are in that pile with any two bit mugger, burglar or major crime boss. And the Dark Judges aren't the worst thing to hit Mega city One, The Sovs dwarf all others in that, Bulgarin or Kazan alone killed 400 million not to mention all there other attack up to chaos day, Nero Narcos killed thousands of Judges where as Death seemed to instead make a slave army of them, and Sabbat killed three billion world wide which Dredd took personally and the dark judges have not inflected anywhere near that level of damage to Dredds world. I personally saw Orlok as Dredd arc enemy, He was the Sov reflection of Dredd, loyal to his city and their vision of law and order to his core even after its loss never losing his moral and beliefs and right up until his death out to personally kill Dredd and Mega City One. Dredd also seemed more concerned about Orlok and the Sovs then the Dark Judges, but that may be due to the Sovs being a more frequent enemy with way more stories dedicated to them.109.156.154.164 (talk) 21:31, 18 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
