I took out "*1992- Lia, specialest person in the world" because the birth is irrelevant in this article. Lime (talk) 00:33, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

Captain Cook[edit]

Was the sale of the fabergé egg described really in pounds? That seems to be an odd currency for a sale in New York. -Acjelen 21:31, 11 Jun 2005 (UTC)

In the Bering Strait and Bering Strait bridge articles a competition's winner is to be announced on this day in 2009. It says

A purely private competition was announced February 10, 2009 for the design of a bridge across the Strait via the Diomede Islands. The winner(s) will be announced June 11, 2009.

This should be made note of and possibly be put under a new section, Future Events. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Stuvaco922 (talkcontribs) 23:53, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

This should not be included per WP:DAYS as it is a future event. It should also not be included because it is not a notable event. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 00:48, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

The opening of and first matches of the 2010 World Cup are not notable events, similar to the opening of the Olympics. Barronitaly (talk) 19:00, 11 June 2010 (UTC)

You are correct. But like many other similar events, it is pointless to revert the addition for a few days, because it will be relentlessly added back in by anons with no regard for WP:DOY or WP:3RR. No point in warring over it. Give it a few days and it will pass. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 20:33, 11 June 2010 (UTC)

Births and deaths[edit]

In accordance with the guidelines, I'm continuing to weed the Births and Deaths sections by removing entries for celebrities with 0-4 articles in other languages. Where possible, these have been transferred to the relevant Year in Topic articles. As well as making the lists more manageable, this will help with the globalization effort.
