Article Name[edit]

This article name could pose a problem down the road, as several other groups (at least in the US) also have JYM's (although usually referring to younger kids than the BYM reference here). --Ahc 05:41, 16 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that there needs to be more clarity about JYF and JYM. In Britain JYF is not the same as JYM (Junior Yearly Meeting), which we also have, as a separate, annual gathering of Quakers aged 16-18. I thought perhaps, since there does not appear to be a page for it, we could have a new article entitled 'Junior Yearly Meeting' which has details of JYM's at the various countries we know of that hold them. Also, after I wrote this article I did a Google search and found that other countries had JYFs too, hence the short reference to worldwide JYF groups. Perhaps, if other people know about them, we could have a main 'Junior Young Friends' page giving details of all the different JYFs worldwide, similar to a JYM one, and the current entry could be moved, more or less as it is, to a new page, such as 'Warwickshire Junior Young Friends' and linked to from the main JYF page. I am in agreement that this ambiguity needs clearing up, and will be happy to help once a consensus on what to do has been reached. JFT 18:43, 16 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have created an article on Junior Yearly Meeting, and hopefully this should clear up some of the confusion. JFT 14:25, 17 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, looks like a good solution. --Ahc 14:31, 17 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
