Too much fighting[edit]

Woah. The 'Battle of Goma' section here is getting too long. Let's follow this article's directive, and keep the main account at Battle of Goma, with a much shorter summary here. Earthlyreason (talk) 13:40, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

Nkunda arrested[edit]

Where does this info go? [1] It would seem to me that there are a couple of places...--Cerejota (talk) 13:09, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

Nkunda commander?[edit]

I'm confused, how did the Rwanda army capture a commander that they are allied with? That's what it points out on the infobox. Noneofyour (talk) 00:09, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

LOL. I've often thought the infoboxes confused more than they clarified. See this IRIN article for an explanation. Kabila agreed to give Rwanda a better deal than what they were getting by backing Nkunda, so they flipped on him. - BanyanTree 00:37, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

If they turned againest the Nkunda, shouldn't the Rwanda army be moved to the other side of the infobox? Noneofyour (talk) 23:37, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

Depends on if the infobox is meant to describe the situation for most of the conflict or just how it ended. Like I said, I don't get infoboxes many of the time. Maybe one of the regular editors here has an opinion... - BanyanTree 23:58, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

Proposed merge with 2013 Kivu Offensive[edit]

Within the scope of the main article. This article is too detailed and Wikipedia is WP:NOTNEWS. - MrX 14:18, 1 December 2013 (UTC)

Updating Article to reflect insurgency waged by the FDLR?[edit]

At the list of ongoing active conflicts there seems to be a consensus that this article should be recognized as inclusive of the FDLR insurgency even when there is no active FARDC push against the FDLR (though there might be a push against the FDLR very soon). I think there was support for the adding of this conflict to the list of ongoing armed conflicts. If anyone wants to help just let me know. I think breaking up the belligerent table to reflect the government is no longer allied with the FDLR would be a good first step. Next would be to update casualties I will update the katanga insurgency article in accordance to reflect this.

Steps:

1. Fix belligerents table to reflect that the FARDC is no longer allied with the FDLR and their allies. I think having the FDLR split into another table would work. The other table can also show FDLR allies that have never really been supported by the government interahamwe is the chief one.

2. Update information in article to reflect the FDLR's activities and their range of activity (not just limited to the Kivus they are in Katanga as well). Update casualty counts and excess deaths for the current conflict.

3. Edit Katanga insurgency page to reflect the changes here (ill do this)

4. Add the activities of the FLN and other burundian hutu militas.

5. Add this to list of ongoing conflicts when the article is completed.

More Work needed, ideally we should get an actual list of armed groups rather than just list umbrella terms like mai mai. I also added raia mutomboki to the conflict table, someone ideally not me should write up an explanation of that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by

Updates to table[edit]

Use this information http://christophvogel.net/mapping/ to update the combatants table, all non-FDLR allied and non-Rwandan backed movements should go into the far right hand column IMO. Ideally the campaginbox should be a bit more organized like Syrian Civil War's box, but IDK how to do that. AbsolutelyHalal (talk) 01:06, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
