I'm not an expert in this field, but this article needs some cleaning done.

  • Are the bits in italics quotes? If so, where from?
  • Need the copious anecdotes from the interrogation be repeated in such detail in an encyclopaedic article? if so, sub-headings would be very useful to introduce some organisation.
  • Problems with tenses: eg "Neither officer has been promoted since the accident although other members of the 1934 and 1935 naval terms are now Kapitänleutnant". It seems highly unlikely that any German naval officers active in the mid-1930s are in command 70 years later.
  • Current Life. That heading is misleading, it should read Later Life (Current Life: none). Also, the sentence "Needless to say, the reunion was a huge success" is unencyclopaedic and does not add any useful information.
  • His death was announced on August 12th, but it is estimated that he died on the 11th to 13th? So his death was possibly announced before it actually occurred? Extraordinary. What does "it is estimated" mean anyway?

Sorry if I sound nitpicky, but it's a good and detailed article so it deserves scrutiny to make it, well, shipshape. athinaios 07:50, 4 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

i also think the a clean up is certainly required for this article. i don't think the details included in "Interrogation of Klaus Bargsten" provide any real valuable information for a Wikipedia reader. Also i can't think of any other U-Boat commander referenced in Wikipedia, even the most high profile figures such as Otto Kretchmer or Günther Prien with such a lengthy article as this one on Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Foxhound1978 (talkcontribs) 16:53, 19 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
